Record Your Art with Purpose

You're recording your art. Now what do you do with all that art footage? Record it with intention and it becomes the ingredients you'll edit into art videos later that actually serve your art business.

EARLY BIRD $77 • GOES TO $99 ON JULY 14TH

You've got art footage adding up, and you keep thinking: "okay, what do I actually do with all this?"

You're posting some clips, but you're not sure what any given piece of art footage is really for in your marketing.

You want art footage you'll actually want to use later in your marketing, but you're not sure what to record now.

Recording your art intentionally means you're gathering the right art footage now, with a purpose and one of the three intentions in mind. Then that art footage becomes your ingredients. So when you sit down to edit later, you already have what you need to put those clips together into an art video that creates a specific experience for the person watching, whether that's to immerse, connect, or spotlight.

And that's what it means to give your art footage a job, starting the moment you record, so that it can serve both your memory and your marketing.

Inside Record Your Art with Purpose, I'll show you:

  • How to see and set the purpose behind what you record: personal reflection, buyer connection, or strategic sharing

  • The three art video intentions (Immerse, Connect, Spotlight), and the experience each one gives the viewer

  • How to sort your own recent art footage by intention, live, to see what you have and what to record next

  • How to build a calm weekly recording rhythm that fits your art practice and your season of life

What's this 4-Part Workshop Series about?

Record Your Art with Purpose is the foundational workshop. The next three workshops takes it further, one art video intention at a time. Join us for all four Record Your Art workshops with the Series Pass for $299 USD:

  • Workshop 1: Record Your Art with Purpose (this one) on July 22nd. Record it with intention and it becomes the ingredients you'll edit into art videos later that actually serve your art business

  • Workshop 2: Record Your Art to Immerse (Sept 2026). Attract the right people by sparking curiosity. Pull the viewer into your world, the texture of your studio, the rhythm of your hands, the sound of the work being made. The art leads, no explanation needed.

  • Workshop 3: Record Your Art to Connect (Oct 2026). Cultivate the relationship with your people. Let the viewer in on something, why you make what you make, what a piece is really about, so it goes deeper than the work itself.

  • Workshop 4: Record Your Art to Spotlight (Nov 2026). Invite your people to take the next step. Point them toward something specific, a finished piece, a new collection, a show opening up. Here's this, and it's for you.

BONUS GIFT: You also get full R2R membership access included ($200 value) with your Series Pass through November 2026, at which point you can sign up to continue to keep your momentum going with us.

Meet your art video mentor

Hi! 👋 I'm Zach Wolfson. I’m a filmmaker and your dedicated guide to making art videos feel easy.

I've helped hundreds of artists move past perfectionism and tech overwhelm to confidently share their stories using simple, low-pressure art video routines. Before creating Ready to Record, I produced Beyond the Gallery, an artist interview web series nominated for Best Documentary Series by the International Academy of Web Television.

My approach as a mentor is warm, supportive, and empowering — like a creative friend cheering you on every step of the way.

If you've ever felt like video was too complicated or intimidating...I'm here to show you a simpler, gentler path forward for ourselves as artists.

Common Questions

I already record and share regularly. Is this too basic for me?

This is built for you. You've got the habit down. The workshop is about what to do with the art footage, starting at the moment you record: giving each clip a purpose and an intention, so what you record aligns with your values and goals as an artist.

Does this cover editing my videos?

No. This one is the recording foundation: seeing and setting the purpose and intention for what you record. Putting those clips together into a specific experience for the viewer comes later.

I don't want it to feel performative on camera. Is this that?

Nope. This is about recording gently for your future self first. You get to decide what, and how much, you ever share.

What if I can't attend live?

No worries! Everyone who signs up gets full access to the replay after the live workshop.

I get nervous being on camera. Is this still for me?

Yes. I struggled with that for years. Recording for your future self first takes the pressure off, because you record for you and decide later what to share.

What if I'm newer to recording?

You're welcome here *and* if you're brand new this isn't the workshop for you just yet. Begin with building your habit to record first. Once you've established that habit, then you'll sprinkle in more intention into it so that you can give your art footage a job to do for you and your art business. If you want my support as you're beginning, consider the One-Shot Studio Views workshop.

Will there be time to do the work live?

Yes. You'll sort your own recent art footage by intention during the session and sketch your one-page recording plan.

Do I need fancy gear or editing skills?

Not at all. The simplest art video is one single take recorded with one intention in mind. We're not editing during the workshop. You're learning what to record and why.

What's the workshop Series Pass?

This workshop is one of four in a series. The 4-Workshop Series Pass is $299 and gets you all four, a lower price than buying each on its own.

How will I access the workshop?

After purchasing, you'll access the workshop through your Ready to Record account. It holds everything available here in one place (workshops, membership, and community) based on what you've purchased. This means it's just one place to log into to access your Ready to Record account.

Is this the same as Ready to Record?

Ready to Record is my membership for keeping the recording habit going month to month, with a learning path, routines, feedback, and a community of artists. This workshop is one piece of that approach. I'm happy to share more about the membership for anyone who wants to keep going.

I have more questions, can I email you?

Of course, I’m all ears. Send me an email at support@readytorecord.com and I’ll get back to you.
