But when it comes to turning anything you record of it into an art video you want to share, things start to feel like too much.
Maybe you:
Open a video editing app, poke around for a few minutes, and close it because it all looks too complicated
Scroll through endless YouTube search results for "best editing app" and still have no idea what actually matters for you as an artist
Feel like everyone else somehow "gets" video editing, while your video clips just sit in your phone’s camera roll

Hi, I'm Zach Wolfson 👋
Hi, I'm Zach Wolfson 👋

I help visual artists use art videos as a natural extension of their studio practice, so their marketing feels more human and less like content creation.
My own path into art videos started with a documentary series called Beyond the Gallery, where I filmed and shared artist stories in a way that felt human, grounded, and real. That series was later nominated for Best Documentary Series by the International Academy of Web Television, and it showed me how powerful short, thoughtful videos can be for connecting people to an artist’s work.
Since then I have:
Shared many dozens of artists' stories as a filmmaker
Taught hundreds more artists my Ready to Record methods through my blog, live workshops, and my membership
Created human centered video pieces for companies like Adobe, Discovery, and Sony
What that means for you is this: I know how to distill all of my experience into a calm, beginner friendly editing process you can actually use with your own art footage.
I am not here to turn you into a content creator. I am here to give you just enough editing skills so your art videos can quietly do their job for you: Document your art journey and help the right people find and connect with you and your artwork.

Common Questions
Common Questions
I’m not techy — will this still make sense to me?
Yes. I expect you’re starting from the very beginning. I’ll show you the steps slowly, on screen, and explain things in plain language. If you can open an app and tap a few buttons, you’ll be able to follow along.
I’ve never edited a video before. Is this workshop for beginners?
Yes, this is exactly who it’s for. You don’t need any editing experience. You’ll learn what an edit actually is, what to do with your clips, and how to move through a simple flow without feeling lost.
Will you cover specific editing apps?
Yes. I’ll walk you step by step through these foundational editing skills inside one beginner friendly app, so you can actually see what to tap and click. Even if you end up using a different app later, the core steps you’ll learn will still apply.
What if I don’t have time to attend live?
That’s alright. You’ll get access to the full replay, and you can pause, rewind, and follow along with your own footage whenever it fits your schedule.
How long will I have access to the replay?
You’ll keep access for the lifetime of the product, so you can come back to the workshop anytime you’re editing a new batch of clips and want a refresher.
Is this workshop for any kind of artist, or just certain mediums?
If you’re a visual artist who records footage of your artwork or studio in some way, you’re welcome. Painters, illustrators, textile artists, ceramicists, mixed media artists, sculptors… if you make visual artwork and want to turn art footage you’ve recorded of yourself making art into simple art videos, you’re in the right place.
How is this different from a YouTube tutorial?
YouTube is great for scattered tips, especially for people pursuing a career as content creators. This workshop is one clear, start-to-finish essential video editing process made specifically for artists.
What if I’ve already tried editing videos and hated it?
Totally fair. Most artists I work with have had at least one frustrating experience with editing. Usually it’s because they were dropped into the deep end of a complicated app. In this workshop, I’ll give you just enough structure and just enough tech so editing feels lighter and actually doable.
